Abstract: For the needs of this research, a fragmentary analysis has been made of classic and smart universities as well as the change in attitudes, approaches and methods of teaching as a result of the pandemic triggered by the COVID-19 virus. To the fore has been pointed out the role of conventional universities as a powerful engine for the preservation and conveying of knowledge but also for the upbringing and the moral involvement of young people in solving specific social problems. In generally, we think that the problems of education influence very active over the contemporary state of the national security. The issue of accumulation and building up knowledge, values and skills through the learning by doing approach in university educational environment has been discussed in the focus of global, regional and national stability. The “benefits” and harm of the pandemic impact related to the COVID-19 virus have been reviewed when organizing and during the conduct of out-of-class training for Bachelor and Master students and PhD students. In particular, the changes in the attitudes for the conduct of field trips and research have been looked at, as well as the limitations that scientists and researchers are faced with when doing research in a virtual and not a real working environment.
